Personal Track Safety PTS (Recertification)

1 Day course – Essential for any persons requiring to walk / work on or near the line

Course Aim
To instruct staff on correctly determining their responsibilities and duties when working On or Near the Line. This one day course will help delegates to be updated with / in any changes to the Rule Book modules

Duration, Numbers Location
The training will be delivered over 1 day for a maximum of 10 delegates

Objectives
At the end of this course delegates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate their ability to interpret correctly the Rule Book 8000 series or Personal Track Safety Handbook [TSH] and relevant local instructions when required to go `On or Near the Line.`
  2. Demonstrate their understanding and ability to follow a Safe System of Work.

Delivery
The course will be presented by approved trainers in the classroom using appropriate visual aids.

Competence
The re-training will be followed by theory assessment. Results will be forwarded by the training provider to the National Competency Control Agency [NCCA] for issue [to the sponsoring company] of a Sentinel Track Safety Card.

Entry Qualifications

Must meet the medical requirements detailed in Network Rail Specification NR/SP/CTM/021 Competence & Training in Track Safety. Meet the requirements for a negative pre employment drugs screen detailed in the current issue of NR/LI/OHS/051: Drugs and Alcohol.   Be in possession of their Track Safety Card [can be expired no later than 2 calendar months]
